Warren Achievement Center has a staff of approximately 125.  Department of Human Services-approved training is provided to staff who work directly with our achievers.

Warren Achievement Center has openings for the following positions:

Residential Assistants, full time & part time, 1st, 2nd & 3rd shifts, some weekends.

  • Will provide support and direction to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.
  • Must have a driver’s license and must be able to be authorized to pass medications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $1,000 for a new employee!

Activities Specialist, part time, days. Plans and implements recreation programs. Carries out recreation goals.  Provides recreation schedules to program staff, interns, volunteers and achievers.  Provides transportation to achievers to attend recreational events.  High school diploma or equivalent with one year experience in a human service field.

Developmental Training Specialist, full time, days, benefits.  Serves a caseload of individuals requiring DT placement. Serves on the program team.  Develops structured program ideas.  Implements training in the areas of pre-vocational training, motor skills development, social skills development, personal care, community integration, and life enhancement skills.  Implements behavior management programs.  High school diploma or equivalent with one year experience in a human service field.

Developmental Training Aide, part time, days.  Provides personal care for achievers receiving services (including changing, toileting, hygiene, feeding). Monitor all achievers during lunchtime. Assist with pre-vocational/vocational training. Cover classrooms as needed to promote all areas of development and life enhancement skills.

All of the above positions are eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus!

Maintenance Specialist, full time, days, benefits.  Performs carpentry and repair duties which includes removal/installation of walls & some new construction.  Troubleshoots and repairs domestic water supply fixtures.  Troubleshoots/repairs existing 110 volt & 220 volt electrical circuits.  General maintenance of several properties.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Prefer at least one year of maintenance experience.  Valid driver’s license required; must be able to work without close supervision.

Maintenance/Groundskeeper, part time, generally days, Monday through Friday.  Will perform assigned tasks such as snow removal, mowing, raking, trimming, digging, and moving equipment and materials.  Some painting and basic carpentry, custodial also required.  Must be able to read labels on equipment and agricultural chemicals.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.  Must be able to carry out tasks without close supervision.

Production Assistant, full time, days.  Responsible for equipment set-up, operation, monitoring, adjustments, and repair.  Provides supervision, training, assistance, and instruction to achievers in order to meet production contracts.  High school diploma or equivalent required, plus one year experience in industry or human services.

Van Driver, part time, generally days, Monday through Friday.  Will ensure expeditious and safe transportation of passengers.  Secure wheelchairs, operate lift, facilitating safety of passengers and observing traffic safety.  Ensures accurate data recording for computer input.  Possible split shifts during the day.  High school diploma or equivalent required and good driving record.  Requires pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screens.
