Triumph Services        Achievement Center Endowment

Our Mission

To enable persons with developmental disabilities to function to the maximum extent possible as responsible members

of the community with the opportunity to choose and to realize their goals of where and how they live, learn, work and play.

Company Profile

Warren Achievement School was founded in 1961, in Monmouth, Illinois, by a group of citizens led by Helen Bersted and Lou Ebersole, as a one-room school for children with developmental disabilities.  Through the years, Warren Achievement Center has grown.  In 1969, our sheltered workshop was opened on South Main Street.  In 1972, WAC added the Adult Residential program.

Today, Warren Achievement Center has Early Intervention services for infants and children, several Residential homes, a sheltered workshop, Community Employment, Respite Services, and Transportation for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and the general public.

Warren Achievement Center provides many opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities to learn and be active members of the community.  Staff are employed and specially trained to provide positive experiences in learning, recreation and independent living.

Acceptance into all programs is based on evaluation of skills of the individual and the availability of funds for necessary services.  Access to services is through the Case Management program where the individual is evaluated to determine the level of disability and which services are appropriate.  Infants and toddlers referred for Early Intervention services will be referred to the Child and Family Connection for Case Management services.

Triumph Services

Triumph Services, Inc. is the combined effort of three human service agencies:  Bridgeway, Knox County Council for Developmental Disabilities, both of Galesburg, Illinois, and Warren Achievement Center.  The not-for-profit corporation was developed in 2000.  Its purpose is to provide a summer day camp experience for children with developmental disabilities.  "Camp Kidz" depends upon camper fees and contributions from the community.  If you would like to make a donation to Camp Kidz or would like more information, you may contact Sherry Waite at 309-734-3131.

CAMP KIDZ

We are now gearing up for the 2008 season.

Early-bird registration ends March 31.  Regular registration ends April 30.  Thirty-two children participated during the summer of 2007.

Camp Kidz is a joint venture among 3 agencies:  WAC, KCCDD, and Bridgeway.  The Camp serves kids with developmental disabilities and is funded through participant fees and donations from the local community and many individual contributions.  For more information contact Sherry Waite at 309-734-3131, ext. 206.
