Three
surveyors sent by CARF, the Commission
on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, visited Warren Achievement
Center Monday through Wednesday, July 26-28, 2004.
They did an intensive inspection of the
organization and the services provided to participants.
In CARF’s Survey Report received on September 8, 2004, CARF says:
“WAC provides state-of-the-art programs for persons served and
has successfully incorporated the vast majority of the CARF standards into
its daily operations, policies, procedures, and practices.
There are no recommendations in this report...”
Cited as areas of exemplary conformance were “Learning To Be
Lean,” the nutrition program funded by the Illinois Office of the
Attorney General and the Developmental Training program which makes
special accommodations a priority for individuals, who at times require a
more comfortable environment.
The Survey Report also lists many strengths including the fact that
WAC has established an organizational culture that has produced a very
positive work environment.
The report goes on to say that this has translated into
unprecedented longevity of staff and has created a very stable base of
services for persons served.
Lynne
Tyler, of the WAC Board of Directors, says: “Congratulations on a job
more than well done.
Reports such as yours are what dreams are made of, goals way up
there to reach for!
I am proud to be a small part of what you do.” |
